The autonomous power supply of remote measurement
stations can be realized by means of a photovoltaic solar system.
The photovoltaic solar system consists of the
following components:
Photovoltaic
solar module
The silicon cells of the solar module convert solar energy into
electricity.
Backup
battery
A maintenance-free sealed lead battery is charged by the solar module
during daytime in order to supply the measuring station at night.
Charge
controller
An electronical charge controller changes automatically between
battery and solar operation additionally protecting the backup battery
against deep-discharge.
