Our PC software witerm runs on MS Windows. The intuitive, multilingual user surface ensures easy operation of the measuring system:

Configuration
All operating parameters and sensor characteristics are user-settable. The storage of measured data in real engineering units (e.g., m/s for wind speed or °C for temperature) by means of virtual channels allows easy data evaluation. Anemometers used for wind turbine site assessment are usually calibrated in a wind tunnel. The individual characteristics are entered into the data logger.
Reading out measured data
The measured data stored in the data logger are transfered to a desktop PC or notebook connected to the serial RS232 port of the wilog303/306. Optionally measured data are transmitted from remote sites via GSM modem or fixed telephone network modem.

Management of measured data
The data management software allows the automatical extraction of daily or monthly files out of long-term measurements. Time series exported in ASCII format can be imported into commercial postprocessing software like MS Excel, WAsP or WindPRO. A statistics module provides the evaluation of measured wind data.

Evaluation of measured wind data
An MS Excel application is used for the visualization of measured wind data. The principal characteristics of the measurement site are displayed in diagrams and tables:
Frequency distribution of the wind speed for 3 anemometers
Weibull distribution
Wind direction distribution (wind rose)
Daily pattern of the mean wind speed
Lull classification
Vertical profiles of the mean wind speed and of the Weibull parameters
Turbulence analysis
Energy yield of a wind turbine
